Out of our love for good friends, great meals, and creative, experimental cooking came a chocolate sauce that we absolutely fell for. As we expanded our original recipe and developed variations, we shared the results with family, and friends, and neighbors. Soon, we were filling whatever jars we had on hand and gifting our tasty treats out to more and more people. Judging by the ever-increasing demand and passionate response, we decided to make this our business. So here we are: GrownUp KidStuff—a variety of tantalizing sauces packed with all the fun and delight you remember as a kid, infused with the depth, richness, and flavor you appreciate as an adult.
To be sure we could please ourselves and be proud of the products we shared, we started with the ingredients—not only what we used but from where they were sourced. Our sweeteners—pure cane sugar and molasses—come from a company that supports an elephant sanctuary. Our Ghanian cocoas come from a company involved with the International Cocoa Initiative and World Cocoa Foundation, both of whom promote sustainable farming practices, farmer training and support, and the development of farmer cooperatives. We use glass jars because they hold the flavor and are nearly infinitely recyclable. We also pay our success forward by a dedicating a portion of our proceeds to support local prairie restoration—returning prairies to their original beauty and supporting the return of native species and birds.
After selecting our ingredients, we tested and tested (and tested) our recipes (hey, we love this part!) to make certain we had the perfect balance for each sauce. Our reward for the time, love and attention we’ve devoted to these elements? Watching people taste the flavor and be transported.
From the all natural ingredients we use, to the funny words on the jars, to the joy we take in sharing our efforts, every spoonful is dedicated with love to our friends, our families… and you!
